How to Quit Smoking, and WHY: Some Tips for You!

» Robert Schuller
Most people who succeed in the face of seemingly impossible conditions are people who simply don't know how to quit.
an Short Story of "Why did I Quit Smoking?"
I've been an non-smoker for a 1 year from now (today's the anniversary btw. - Happy Anniversary! Hip, Hip - Hurray!)
The reason why i quit after 4 years smoking wasn't because i cared so much about my health or disliked it, in-fact i loved tobacco products and smoking cigarettes...

So to be honest, it was really painful experience for me to quit it, because i tried all kinds of different methods to succeed in it. Eventually though "trying to succeed quit smoking" became my affection, desire and goal: Which in the ironic way, i finally achieved...

Anyways lets head back to the question, "Why did I Quit?" - Well the reason is very simple: I did it because i loved the beautiful scents of the women more than smoking itself; "and to be honest, smoking tobacco products on the time when i was addicted for tobacco products had killed my scent.": The food tasted differently; My none-Smoker girlfriends clothing was always drowned with the smell of tobacco, but most ironic thing was that I didn't even feel anymore the smell of the autumn when winter passed and snow had melt! - These are the main reasons why i did it: Sure there were a lot more beneficial reasons to do it. Anyways, i did it and I'm proud of it: "I stopped to burn my Life away" - at least that's what my girlfriend said!

Some Tips of "How To Quit Smoking?"
1). Firstly and Mainly:
Do not try to quit if you don't want it for yourself, because most likely you'll end up failing. You should really try to find The Reason "Why to Do It", and then start acting towards it! (It's the way i did it.)

2). Just telling NO to Cigarettes:
A very good example of "How to keep you off the Cigarettes" is when, for instance: Your friend or the person who is offering you a cigarette, is to tell to that particular person that "I don't Smoke; I quit Smoking, or I'll Pass it this time", etc.
It sure doesn't work all the time, but in my very own experiences when you do this and when you still smoke or are trying to quit it, you're somehow or in someway are bewitching and are re-programming your brain not to do it this time. Which eventually leads you to smoke less and maybe eventually makes you to quit it.

3). Thinking Twice:
If you'll take an cigarette out of the pack and start to light it up, think twice before doing this; after that, put cigarette back into the pack and throw the pack away. (Believe me i know that this sounds kinda silly, but non the less i tried it and because of it i didn't smoke for an few days...) The reason "why to do it" is simple: That way you'll realize that even when you'd had lit up the cigarette, money would be still wasted - It's the same as throwing money out to the thin air...

4). Replacing an Addiction:
For most of the people who smoke tobacco products, realize that it is just an addiction: But for some of us, it isn't - like it wasn't for me, yet it's still an addiction!
Replace the smoking addiction with something else: For Instance; with cooking, eating particular kinds of food, chewing a gum, doing push-up's, etc. It sure isn't the best way to succeed to quit it, but in someways it does help: Sometimes it just helps you to smoke less, which eventually can lead you to quit it!

5). Before you'll lit up an cigarette, eat something really spicy and then lit your cigarette. (Most of the times it makes you to throw cigarette away, because your tongue cannot handle it.)
